- Honey and Clover. Depressing in the second season, but the first is rather touching and the characters are fun. Yamada the daughter of a liquor store owner and known as Tetsujin (Iron Woman) because she RAN 5 miles, towing her hyperactive dog, to school after her bike broke or something like that. There's also the best depiction of what an artist's head is like I've ever seen. A field of 100 boxes and you only get to open one of them. Artists never have enough time.
- Hidamari Sketch is a cute girls being cute, with no boys in their dorm to cause romantic entanglements. They draw and paint and some are realistic but should be hallmark cards, others so avante garde they belong on a wall. And the dorm manager works 10 jobs because her properties don't bring in enough money. And the roof leaks. The girls hang out and draw and they're charming.
- Pet Girl of Sakurasou just finished its run a week ago. About a guy who rescues cats, and a girl who's like a cat, and another girl who loves him, all living in a falling down old dorm full of weirdoes at art school.
- Mahoraba (Heartful Days) is about yet another art school boarding house, with yet another lad who wants to draw childrens books and is pretty good at it.The boarding house is old school manor with an courtyard and the rooms facing inwards, complete with garden and pond. Its surrounded by 30 story high rises in downtown Tokyo, what's called a "nail", a rusty nail that won't be pulled out. The landlady is MPD and loves the hero since childhood. Rather touching and funny.

Anime about Art School
Oddly enough, there are anime about art school. Quite a few of them. The schools are so similar they might crossover for a dedicated sort of person.
