Fracking California Will Kill Us

I consider it a foregone conclusion that:

1. The oil in the Monterey Formation will be fracked.
2. The oil will pay off debts (to extend further credit for bastards), not used domestically.
3. Groundwater contamination will poison all land on and near the formation, namely the South San Joaquin, which drains into the San Joaquin River, which flows into the Delta.
4. The San Joaquin Delta provides drinking water for both LA and SF bay Area, for 25 million people.
5. If the benzene can't be removed by treatment plants, 25 million people will have to move away.
6. Some California refugees will take their poverty and desperation to your town.
7. Some will commit crimes, having lost what they had when they abandoned California.
8. Some will have cancer from the benzene.
9. Size of fracking operations will require a great deal of fresh water and piping, probably pulling water from outside the immediate area, probably all of LA's drinking water supply from the California Aqueduct system.
10. Wars and violence have happened over water rights in the West. Wars are likely to happen again.
11. Seizure of farming water for fracking will kill many orchards, and you can't irrigate food crops with carcinogens so the single biggest industry in California, agriculture, will die to get the oil.
12. The orchards irrigated by this water includes the majority of Vitamin C oranges, meaning scurvy will make a comeback for the rest of the country.
13. Demand in China and Europe will buy most of the oil, extending the manufacturing capacity of USA's competitors, leaving 56% of the population unemployed and desperate.
14. Unemployed and desperate people do desperate things to provide for their families, including crime and civil war.

And remember that there will be close to 25 million California refugees fleeing the poison waters. Some will cram into Sacramento, which is pretty miserable in the summers, has few jobs, and with no operating nuclear power plants and high taxes, there won't be enough power to run air conditioners. Sacramento already has mass gang shootings and high crime. Forcing more poor violent people together to escape cancer-water won't improve things. Most will move on if they're make the mistake of stopping in Sacramento. Some will go North into the rains. Most will go Back East, to charming Chicago and St. Louis etc. Bay Area tech companies are already bailing out of the crap business environment and moving to Texas, to Austin, which has lower taxes and people just as dumb as the Bay Area. Why stay here when you're paying for "studies" rather than repairing the damage. Nothing gets better here. It just gets worse and more expensive.
