COFFEE: Silver Spur Coffee

I like coffee. It is full of thiamine. I am diabetic. I lose thiamine five times faster than normal people. I learned this when I developed a craving for dark coffee, dark chocolate, wheat bread, and dark beer. All are rich in thiamine, which is an essential vitamin.

I've tried many coffees, trying to find the best one for the best price. I recently found a good brand at WinCo foods, which is a cheap grocery store in Rocklin I used to shop at when I lived there, being about half the price of Raleys, another grocery chain in California. I spotted 2 pounds of Silver Spur ground coffee for only $6. Its from Clackamas Oregon, a suburb of Portland. When I got it home and opened it, I realized it was probably only a couple days since roasting. There was no bitterness smell from oxidized rancid oils like you find in many ground coffee brands. I won't say which ones, but you know them as the "nasty" brands which often sell in cans rather than vent bags and require lots of sugar to get down.

Silver Spur Straight Shooter is a dark roast, but its smooth. It can be drunk black. I use my Bodum French press and its very nice. I will definitely buy this again. I may even give them a thumbs up at their website. Google pretends this brand does not exist. Bing is the same. I hope I can buy this again.

  2. I drink the Daybreak Blend and it's great! I was looking for the caffeine content and can't find it tho. Seems for a dark roast it isn't very potent bc I still drag ass after a couple cups. But the taste is wonderful and I look forward to my cup of Joe in the morning instead of forcing it down like I used to with those other really bitter after taste brands. And it's $9 for 2 pounds here at Medford Winco but still affordable and certainly worth it.
