The Weather Channel has posted an article about El Nino causing Western flooding after these years of drought caused large fires. Even more ironically, summer thunderstorms can touch off the fires in the dry forest, not delivering sufficient rain to put them out. Funny how that works. Yesterday, driving across the valley from Clear Lake, clouds rose angrily out of pacific coastal moisture, accumulating over the Sierras. There has been some rain at Tahoe, which is often the case in the hottest summer heat on this side of the Sierras. We're seeing 100'F this weekend. That is perfectly normal summer heat, btw. Looking forward to the rains in the Fall. Not looking forward to the fires.
